Mission statement

Over a period of more than 25 years DAYA PERTIWI has been active rural development by establishing CBOs (Community Based Organizations) providing water supply for irrigation and drinking water, housing, saving & credit program, etc, farming (organic ecological agriculture, land rehabilitation, social forestry, etc.), and animal husbandry. Looking at past experiences and referring to the current real conditions while projecting for the future, DPF has also since 1992, developed Micro, Small and Medium Businesses (in the fields of industry, trade, agribusiness as well as services). DPF apply the principle of total transparency, where all the funding and evaluation reports conducted by external independent experts team launched on this website and could be accessed by the public.

DPF Policies and Intervention Strategies

Services and supports provided by DPF generally based on:

  • Very densely populated areas and high poverty. isolated areas, areas that have not much touched by the development program or project of government or other private organization, drought areas;
  • Often based on the demand or proposal of potential local communities in implementing projects or local government’s invitation;
  • Project beneficiaries, both in rural and urban areas, will mainly (but not exclusively) be guided on an individual basis for SMEs and group basis for CBED (Community Based Economy Development). For both groups, the following general selection criteria have been fixed with regard to the personality of the candidate:
    • he/she is requiring explicitly the project service; he/she has a good motivation and desires to develop his/her enterprise (in the broad sense of the word);
    • he/she owns basic production skills;
    • he/she is not bound yet with traders or collectors (i.e. he/she is not dependent and can work as an independent farmer or entrepreneur);
    • he/she is not yet under guidance by another similar projects (to avoid overlapping and excessive services or over-promotion).
  • Strategic interventions: For more than 25 years DPF has served about three million people in Java, Bali. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Papua. There is no the same CBO in the same location that get services from DPF project more than 12 years. After 12 years, the project beneficiaries are no longer considered a target group but as equal clients. Projects implemented in three phases namely: Entry Phase, Consolidation Phase and Withdrawal Phase.

 Urgent Projects to be continued

  • About 3 million people have been served through the projects, currently there are still several thousand people who still need follow-up services in the advanced phase projects in Java, Bali, Nusa Penida Island and NTT;
